We are looking for a Freelance Graphic Designer to join our growing team. Graphic Designers at Bellweather work on all design tasks, from visual conceptualization to final delivery of production-ready files.

This position is remote and must be able to accommodate East Coast hours. We offer pay based on experience: under 2 years junior; 2-5 years mid level; 5+ senior.

This position is a 6-month contract (minimum 30 hours per week) with options to extend or full-time hire.


About the role

Responsibilities

Visual conceptualization and design

  • Have a strong eye for aesthetics and excellent design skills
  • Collaborate with the Strategy and Creative teams to develop insights-driven design that resonates powerfully across all media channels
  • Facilitate and encourage creative collaboration between team members, clients, contractors/freelancers, and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple design tasks/projects simultaneously

Collaboration and communication

  • Collaborate with design team members to push visual concepts and complete design tasks
    Work closely with project management team members to keep design tasks on schedule and flag any concerns
  • Communicate with team members when tasks are ready for review or completed
  • Understand client needs and communicate them to other team members who may not understand clients’ perceptions or goals
  • Senior-level designers are expected to possess effective presentation skills and professionalism for client-facing meetings, manage tasks of junior designers, and provide leadership and learning opportunities

Proactive and detail-oriented

  • Help identify copy mistakes, ensure required logo(s) or legal language is correct, collaborate with photo or video editors to ensure high quality image or video output in final delivery
  • Responsible for ensuring production-ready files and providing design source files to production vendors or clients
About you

The ideal candidate

  • An excellent designer and collaborator
  • Driven to create design that responds to research and audience insights
  • Excited to share experiences and insights with a highly collaborative, fully-remote team
  • An expert with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma (After Effects not required but appreciated)
  • Comfortable creating templates for Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Organized: properly labels and manages files and folders for all creative assets on various cloud platforms
