BRIC, a leading arts institution located in Downtown Brooklyn, and Bellweather Agency, an award-winning creative agency specializing in design and strategy, are pleased to announce that BRIC’s new website, designed by Bellweather, has been nominated in the 28th Annual Webby Awards in 3 categories.
The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet. BRIC’s new website, which launched in October 2023, was nominated in the following categories: Websites and Mobile Sites – Cultural Institutions, Websites and Mobile Sites – Best Responsive/Adaptive Design for Mobile, and Websites and Mobile Sites – Best Mobile Visual Design – Function.
Bellweather’s design philosophy, encapsulated in the aesthetics and functionality of BRIC’s website, prioritizes a mobile-first, video-forward approach. This innovative strategy has ushered in a contemporary and dynamic digital platform, seamlessly guiding visitors into BRIC’s diverse array of programming. From the acclaimed BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! free summer concert series in Prospect Park to the Emmy Award-winning Brooklyn Free Speech TV and BRIC TV, the website serves as an intuitive gateway to BRIC’s multifaceted offerings, including contemporary art exhibitions, youth education programs, artist residencies, and subsidized media education classes.

Past 5-Word Speeches include: Steve Wilhite’s “It’s Pronounced “Jif” not ‘Gif’; NASA’s “Houston We Have A Webby”; and SZA’s “The Internet Scares Me. Thanks.”
