Bellweather led the website research, strategy, and design for California's new 529 program CalKIDS.
CalKIDS is the nation's largest college savings program for millions of students. All families of low-income public school students – 3.4 million children – can now access college savings accounts created in their children’s names, with seed investments of between $500 and $1,500.
Bellweather worked closely with program leader TIAA and the California Treasurer's Office team to create the information architecture, content, and mobile-first design.
CalKIDS welcoming brand takes the lead through vibrant visuals and gentle animation. Its user-friendly navigation aids caregivers and parents in navigating these straightforward steps, simplifying what otherwise might be an overwhelming process into digestible bites.
The site is designed and built to seamlessly transition between the twelve languages supported by the California Department of Education, providing key information to caregivers and parents regardless of language or background.
